QJ LogoSome of our more observant readers may have noticed a few new changes here at QJ.NET today! We've heard your suggestions and have implemented a new feature that should make everyone happy - Registered and Unregistered users alike! At the top of each article's comment list you will find and option to either "Hide" or "Show" comments made by Unregistered users. This will allow everyone to share their opinion and interact with the QJ.NET Community, but also enables the option to not view Anonymous Comments if you personally feel they aren't worth reading - the choice is up to you!

Comment Filter

Speaking of the QJ.NET Community, we are also unveiling a new feature that will help connect QJ.NET and our readers with the rest of the internet, as well as your own personal webpages and blogs! The Trackback feature is your chance to let other users know where to find sites and content that are referencing the news and articles you read here at QJ.NET. You will find these "trackbacks" at the end of the comment list for each article. So how does it work? Simply submit a related URL that contains a link back to QJ.NET, enter your name and a short description and your link will be processed and added to the article! It's that easy!

Trackback

But the new stuff doesn't stop there! As a courtesy to all of you RSS users out there, we've added a page that lists all of the different subjects and categories covered here at QJ.NET, so if you're interested in specific content while you're on the go, make sure to check out our RSS Feeds by Category section!

As always, we are interested to hear your opinion on these new features, as well as any other changes or additions you'd like to see here at QJ.NET! Be sure to leave us a comment and let us know what you think. Of course, the easiest way to let us know you like these new features is to Jump it Up!

To ensure that the majority of our readers are aware of these new features, this post will remain at the top of the news list for part of the day. Look below for the latest news and updates!

How about a more useful feature like Jump-it-Down.

 » Hey, QJ!

Would it be possible to make the default view "Hide" so that RSS readers don't have to read 'em? Or make the default view in the RSS feed hide the unreg.s?

I'm not registering just to inflate QJ's member count to impress their advertisers with. I don't even see their ads. I like the community here but I don't like the fascist dictatorship that runs the place.

If unregistered comments can be blocked then give us the option to block registered comments as well.

 » Login Problem

When I am on a comment page (before I sign in) and I type in my name and password and press login, I am directed back to the main page (I am no longer on the comment page I was planning on commenting on). I only log in when I am planning on posting something and I only decide to post something after I have read the full article and glanced at the comments.

What's the point of logins anyway? There's no lack of idiots who have opinions. Forcing them to log in isn't going to change anything.

It's an easier way to settle arguments. 8D People will still turn the blocking off so they feel like they're not being left out or criticized.

 » good point lupin

yea that would be nice or a temp registration would sove stuff like 50 comments per temp and unlimited for register people
-something like that-

hey u registered *****s block me

   by lmao (Unregistered) - 2006-06-01
 » haha

Unregistered for life!!!

   by Plastik (Unregistered) - 2006-06-02
 » hmm...

A lot of unregistered users have constructive comments to make, unlike the certain few who just post "OMGZ FERST POST" and flame everyone. The only reason I post as unregistered is because of the annoyance of having to sign in all the time. For some reason it signs me out after making a comment. Those who choose to use this feature will more than likely end up not using it, as conversations will make no sense if a registered user replies to an unregistered user's comment. As much as we all hate spammers, its just gonna cause confusion

whats the point?? would unregistered users comments not be as good as registered users?

instead of that "jump it up" filter , how about a "crap news" filter?? that would filter away 80% of whats on the main page & leave the "worth my time" stuff

Edited by QJ. NET Staff, because:
That's exactly why you have the option to either read all the comments or filter them. Every reader has their own preferences, we're not trying to discriminate, we're only doing what we think is best for most, if not everyone, besides, it's always better to have options right? As for your "crap news filter", why not just go to sites that you prefer to read news about? We value every news (even your so-called crappy ones) as much as we value every comment (even this you-know-what one). ;)

90% of post are by unregistered users so no point in hiding them or else you wont be reading any comments lol

 » Agree

you notice how all people who respect the site actually have an account... all people that probably whining about this feature are unregistered... just proves something =) cant wait to see more features QJ, you are the best PSP news site around, and I agree with most of the other comments by the registered people! and i agree no more reading idiotic comments!
