QJ LogoHere is a small update about what's been going on around here at QJ.NET today that will hopefully enhance your experience while you're here. The most obvious added feature is our new Gallery View for thumbnailed images and screenshots. Its pretty basic and bare-bones at the moment, but before long it'll look a little bit nicer and complement the style of the rest of the site. There's nothing you have to do, just click on any thumbnailed image like you normally would and a new window will open up showing you all the images from that post - easy as pie! At the moment, this is only available for images posted from this point on.

QJ Gallery

Next up is a new feature that gives our faithful readers the chance to let other people know about any of the cool articles or breaking news you see here on QJ.NET! At the bottom of each individual article view you'll find a box containing links to all your favorite Social Bookmarking sites on the web! Deli.cio.us, Reddit, Spurl and many more! So if you see something you think other folks should know about, be sure to get the word out! (Word to the wise: many QJ blogs are currently banned from Digg so you may not be able to Digg It... it's long, scandalous story, but I'll save that for another post...)

And finally, a reminder about a feature that debuted a few weeks ago: Trackbacks! There's been a bit of confusion, so I thought I'd take a moment and clear everything up. The Trackback feature is a way for us to help bring attention to your own site, blog, or favorite hangout space or forum. Its a link exchange program, so if you post something elsewhere related to what we covered in a QJ article, submit a trackback! In order for trackbacks to be approved, the submitted page has to contain a link back to that particular QJ article. Entering a Trackback is easy, just fill out the form at the bottom of an article and spread the word, then we'll spread yours!

Trackback

As always, we're dying to know what you think about the newest features here at QJ.NET - your feedback is how we continue to improve your experience while you're here! And of course, if you like these new additions, the easiest way to let us know is to Jump it Up!

 » shortcuts in gallery

Would be nice with shortcuts such alt-z to go back and alt-x to go next image.

Social Bookmarking should be moved to the bottom of the articles.

Comment system is still stupid. Only USERS should be allow to post. And spam and bull***** should get ban for a few days, then a week and then forever. It's the only way to prevent posts like "omg 1st".

Remove the big ad for other QJ sites. First of all, it doesnt make it sense having it there. If I would like to read about laptops, then I go and click the link at the top of the page. 2. It's way too big! If it absolutly have to be there then make the height of it to 60-80px.
Another idea would be to replace it with the Top 10 Jumped Up Posts in the last 24 hours box.

Last thing is about the ps3updates site. Make a new header with the new controller :P

It's a great site, but those things ive just mentioned would, imo, make it better.

Gallery is pretty useless. Clicking on images was just fine.

Thing is *****nut, my comp can't lags a bit trying to open up the gallery. Go suck your limp d-i-c-k.

The gallery is poorly designed but it's simple, I give you that.

» *****ty answer to a question no one asked

Why can't you guys just link to the damn photos instead of some *****ty embedded viewer? It makes it easier for everyone. I hated you during E3 whe you posted a *****load of photos and forced them to be loaded in an embedded viewer, making people open a new window for each photo. You guys suck at web design

The thumbnail gallery is *****ing annoying. Axe it.

If the images would have atleast opened in a new tab as opposed to a new window I would have been happy. I don't like this new gallery as this doesn't help the previous problem it simply puts all the images into one window - the same problem that IE has.

#14: I don't understand. You just said you hated having to open a new window for each image - now you have one window for all the images. Isn't that the solution you're looking for?

#16: We'll see if we can make it so it opens a new tab.

I want to be able to open a tab for each image, with no viewer or gallery, just the picture itself. It screws up large pictures because IE and Firefox (I dunno about Opera) zoom the picture out so that it fits the screen, making it actual size, which screws things up and you're stuck with only a part of the picture and no way to see the rest of it. Please stop trying to reinvent the wheel.

Would be better if you fixed the odd things like how sometimes the comments won't open and then the site won't work.

i found it better using firefox and clicking thrumbnails so they opened in new tabs.. gallery sucks

 » Leave It!

The feature is OK, but it doesnt really add much to the site. Just please stop with the features while you have the chance! They dont seem to add anything to the site except from confusion.

The blogs are fine.. leave them alone ;)
