Here are some cool-looking pictures of Russian subway tunnels. I think most of these are for trolleys and the like. These were taken, I believe, in the Lyublinskaya line of the Moscow metro. Maybe you guys from Russia can tell me if this is right or not. Anyway, the Lyublinskaya line was plagued by a barrage of near-constant financial problems, and so a lot of the construction sites for the line were abandoned. The condition of these tunnels have really deteriorated, but in my opinion it adds to the textures and atmosphere of the pictures. Some of these pics remind me of a Doom Patrol story I read before: the one where Cliff goes into the underground railway system connecting Crazy Jane's personalities together. These derelict tunnels also bring to mind Grant Morrison's first Doom Patrol story arc. In the beginning of the Orqwith story, this one guy gets on the subway and ends up in a station made of bone. It's obvious that these pictures right here are of ordinary, run-of-the-mill, man-made tunnels, but it doesn't take that much of an imagination to turn all those metal girders and stuff into something horrific in your mind. Brrr, I'm giving me the creeps. |

Altough construction style is a lot like common metro, we dont have abandoned civilian lines at moment (oil prices helps, yknow).
More like its underground Military Command Center in Ramenki (South-Western Moscow) also dubbed as Metro2. You can get some reading on it here: http://www.metro.ru/metro2/ .
P.S. May gods of Babelfish be with you.
Thanks for the heads up Melanor9. :D
Are these real pics? Pretty cool. Looks kinda like a video game. Maybe someone should make a movie there or something.
I would say you're absolutely right, unless in Russia you fit nuclear-proof doors to your subway systems (see 5th Pic)!
:)
sorry for my english... i don't think they r real photos. that looks like rendered computer graphic images, except for those with people on it. no, definitely neither the one with poeple on it. there should be 2 shadows for each person. one due to the lamp in front of him, and uno due to the lamp behind!
