Sony Alpha SLRs

With Konica Minolta bowing out of the digital camera market, Sony has previously announced that they would carry on in their absence. Sony now announces a new line altogether, which will be specifically for their SLR camera systems.  Featuring Konica Minolta-compatible systems for all the glass still floating around out there, the new line, "Alpha" sounds like it will be a higher end brand of digital camera.

The information is still a bit sparse, but it looks like things to come will be pretty interesting from Sony's Alpha. Will they compete against the heavily established Canon, Nikon, and Pentax?  It remains to be seen, but Sony doesn't take things like this lightly, and will give it their best shot. Competition is good, so I'm excited to see what the result is.
