Hewlett-Packard Co. is recalling its HP Photosmart R707 digital cameras after receiving a report that one of these units caught fire.

About 679,000 digicams are being recalled worldwide to prevent this same incident from happening. According to reports, the digicams can cause batteries to overheat when these cameras are connected to docking stations or AC adapters.

Although no injuries related to an HP Photosmart R707 were reported, Hewlett-Packard will still make sure that their units will be fixed. An update for HP's other digicams can be downloaded from their home site that will prevent digicams from applying a charge to non-rechargeable batteries.
